Danza Contemporánea de Cuba widmet diesen Workshop den afrokubanischen Tanztraditionen und setzt einen besonderen Schwerpunkt auf Tänze, die mit der westafrikanischen Yoruba-Religion in Verbindung stehen. Die Tänzerin Adalies Duvergel untersucht mit den Teilnehmer*innen Bewegungen, Rhythmen und Ausdrucksformen der wichtigsten Yoruba-Gottheiten und eröffnet ihnen sowohl einen theoretischen als auch einen praktischen Zugang zu diesem Tanzerbe – einer der tragenden Säulen der kubanischen folkloristischen Bühnentanztradition.

Danza Contemporánea de Cuba dedicates this workshop to Afro-Cuban dance traditions, with a special focus on dances that are linked to the West African Yoruba religion. The dancer Adalies Duvergel will explore movements, rhythms and expressive forms of the most important Yoruba gods together with the participants and provide them with both a theoretical and practical approach to this dance heritage – one of the central pillars of the Cuban folkloric stage dance tradition.
